Somewhere In Time, Vol. 2 is the second in a two-part series of solo electric guitar albums by Serbian composer/guitarist Igor Lisul. The eleven tracks on the album are all original compositions that are calming and easy to relax with. All of the pieces are melodic and express warmth and encouragement. It is interesting to note that Igor is both left-handed and self-taught and plays with the usual string order on the guitar reversed. He released his first album, Pages of Our Lives, in 2020 and has released an impressive number of albums and singles since then.
Somewhere In Time, Vol. 2 begins with “In The Beginning,” a gentle and slightly nostalgic piece that tells a story without words and allows the listener to decide what it’s about. “Calm Thoughts,” also seems to be telling a story and is also very gentle and relaxed. “Mellow Dawn” paints a peaceful picture in the soft pastel shades of an early morning sunrise. “To Sail Away” expresses a dreamy kind of wanderlust, wondering what it would be like to be able to go somewhere else. “Rebirth” picks up the tempo a bit, shaking off the past and moving on with hope and optimism. I really like this one! “Yearning” feels like a bittersweet daydream or a fervent hope. “Touch of Curiosity” is gently upbeat, perhaps asking questions. “The Valley Of Flowers” paints a blissful picture of colorful flowers moving gracefully with a gentle breeze - a little bit of heaven! “Song Of The River” has a rippling effect much like light dancing on the surface of water as it moves downstream - peaceful and a bit hypnotic. “Victory Celebration” expresses joy in a very calm manner. “Pure Happiness” is a bit more effusive and light-hearted, bringing this lovely album to an upbeat close.
Somewhere In Time, Vol. 2 can be streamed and downloaded on Amazon and Apple Music/iTunes and is also available on many streaming services including Spotify and Pandora. Check it out!
