Review by Kathy Parsons
“Blowin’ In the Wind” is pianist/composer Joey Curtin’s arrangement of Bob Dylan’s classic folk song. Written in 1962, Dylan released it as a single and the song also appeared on his 1963 album, The Freewheelin’ Bob Dylan. “Blowin’ In the Wind” was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 1994 and was ranked #14 on Rolling Stone magazine’s “500 Greatest Songs of All Time.” Peter, Paul and Mary had the biggest commercial hit with the song, and their recording was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2003.

Joey Curtin’s arrangement of the song is for piano with synth orchestration (mostly strings) and shimmering background sounds. She keeps the piano arrangement simple and direct, focusing on the melody and the meaning behind it. It’s a meaningful interpretation of one of the truly great songs of the 1960s.

“Blowin’ In the Wind” is available to download or stream on Amazon and Apple Music/iTunes as well as on many streaming platforms including Spotify and Pandora. It’s a beauty!
