Review by Kathy Parsons
"Carry On" is pianist/composer Joey Curtin's instrumental arrangement of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young's classic hit from their 1970 Déjà Vu album. Joey's arrangement is mostly piano, but there are some light synth enhancements that add to the range of tonal colors and atmospheric effects. Even though the musical style is very different from CSN&Y's and Joey plays the song somewhat slower than the original, the melody is easily recognizable and carries the same emotional expression. The two versions provide a fascinating contrast, and I actually like Joey's version best! I always find it interesting when an artist takes a rock classic and gives it more of a neo-classical makeover - especially when it works as well as Joey's does! Whether or not you remember the original version of "Carry On," Joey Curtin's arrangement is a real treat!

"Carry On" is available from Amazon, Apple Music/iTunes and streaming sites like Spotify.
