Joey Curtin's "Skating - Joy" is a delightful merging of Vince Guaraldi's "Skating" and GF Handel's "Joy To the World." Released as a single, "Skating" is one of Joey's favorite Guaraldi pieces and it was a dream come true for her to be able to arrange and record it with her own jazz interpretations as well as adding some snippets from "Joy To the World." Joey recorded the piece on piano and keyboards, and Brian Steever added drums, creating a relaxed and dreamy atmosphere suitable for any time of year. The project became part of Joey's emotional, spiritual and physical therapy for the months of November and December while providing a heartwarming gift to all of her listeners - truly a win-win! Quoting Joey Curtin: "I decided to go ahead and release it in January, because I think we could use a little bit of Christmas Joy throughout the whole year!" Amen!
