Review by Kathy Parsons
“My Nightmare (Reimagined)” is the third single from Matias Bacoñsky’s upcoming album, Life and Death (Reimagined), which is a new version of his 2016 debut album, Life and Death. The original album was solo piano, primarily due to budget constraints, and the Reimagined version is piano with extensive orchestration and choir, as Matias originally envisioned the music. In my review of the original album, I said: “Presently only 21 years old, Matias Baconsky appears to have a very bright musical future ahead of him!” and I’m so happy I was right about that! I’ve reviewed five albums and ten singles by the Argentinian artist, and Matias never disappoints! Always deeply emotional and from the heart, his music tells powerful stories whether they are solo piano or fully orchestrated. Even the cover artwork by Maxwel Dueñas for all three singles is outstanding!
Quoting the concept of the album:
“When you are left alone with your thoughts, the darkness grows louder. Fear takes over, and every second feels like another step toward loss. The mind begins to imagine the worst, even before it becomes real. This is not what is happening - this is what it feels like.”
“My Nightmare (Reimagined)” is available to stream and download on Bandcamp, Amazon, and Apple Music/iTunes as well as on many streaming services including Pandora and Spotify. Don’t miss it!
