“Open Window” is the first single from Pete Calandra and Straight Up for 2026 - and what a breath of fresh air it is! The piece features Pete on piano, electric piano and keyboards along with Tom Barney on bass guitar and Ricky Martinez on congas and percussion. Pete composed the piece and also engineered and mixed the recording. “Open Window” feels very smooth and relaxed but also has a strong rhythmic pulse that adds a bit of joyful energy and gives it an infectious groove. Pete’s piano and keyboards stay in the lead throughout, creating musical magic from start to finish. I give “Open Window” an enthusiastic both thumbs up!
