Review by Kathy Parsons
"Mountain Dance" is the first single released by Peter Calandra since his full album, Spirit, was released earlier this year. Peter’s solo piano arrangement of a Dave Gruisin piece (and the title track of Dave’s 1980 album) is an upbeat bit of musical joyfulness that has Peter's nimble fingers dancing freely all over the piano keyboard. A sense of freedom as well as happy exuberance flow throughout most of the piece - a combination sure to elicit a smile. The music calms near the end which I interpret as feeling reluctant to leave the beauty of the mountains or the contentment of winding down after the lively dance.

"Mountain Dance" will be released on July 19, 2024 and is available for pre-release orders from Amazon now. More links will be added as they become available. New music from Peter Calandra is always a treat, and "Mountain Dance" is no exception!
