"Sleepy Hollow" is one of an ongoing series of solo piano singles by pianist/composer extraordinaire Peter Calandra, a NYC-based artist who wears many, many hats in the music industry. With his background in jazz, musicals, soundtrack music for films and television, and much more, the singles in the series clearly demonstrate Peter's versatility as a composer and musician. Some of the singles have been on the ambient side and some have been much more jazz oriented. "Sleepy Hollow" incorporates elements of both jazz and ambient, but is mostly on the jazz/improvisational side. With so much "cookie-cutter" music swirling around us all the time, it is truly a joy to find an artist with his own distinctive voice and musical point of view. I love this quote from Peter: "I find that, as a creative person, when you put something in a box, you limit the creative flow." Amen to that!
