“What Remains” is a beautiful and heart-felt solo piano single from Zsolt Pataki. Born and raised in Hungary and now living in Germany, Zsolt has released two full albums and six singles (including this one) since his 2024 debut album, Safe In the Storm. Zsolt explains the inspiration for this incredibly expressive piece of music:

“What Remains” is a deeply emotional piece for me. It was written during a period of personal change and reflects the thoughts and feelings that remain with us after something meaningful comes to an end.

In a lot of ways, it seems unfair that an artist’s best work often arises from painful moments and events in life, but this piece is definitely one of Zsolt’s best (so far!). I have enjoyed all of the music that Zsolt has released, but “What Remains” is near the top of my “favorites” list.
