Review by Kathy Parsons
"A Christmas Sky" is a beautiful piano solo by pianist/composer/educator Suzanne Herman and has a very special story:

"While sailing from South America’s Cape Horn to the continent of Antarctica, Suzanne was in awe. This remote part of the world felt vast and exhilarating. Even though it was nighttime, darkness does not appear this time of year, yet the filtered-lit sky was filled with bright stars. The music paints a landscape that transports the listener to a remote place on planet earth at a very special time of year…it was Christmas!"

Even though the piece has a Christmas theme, it can certainly be played any time of the year! Suzanne included fingering in a few tricky spots and a metronome setting, although the piece is very expressive in a range of moderately slow tempos. Students and pianists at an upper-intermediate playing level should have no problems with the piece, which would make a really nice selection for piano recitals.

"A Christmas Sky" is in the key of Ab (4 flats) and is three pages. It is available from Suzanne's website as well as from SheetMusicPlus.com and SheetMusicDirect.com. Recommended!
