Review by Kathy Parsons
For his newest single, Spanish pianist/composer Alejandro Clavijo has arranged the fourth movement of Gustav Holst's The Planets, "Jupiter, The Bringer of Jollity," for piano and orchestra. The first half of the piece is solo piano with the second half orchestrated by Alejandro's brother, David Clavijo. Quoting Alejandro: "I have been in love with this melody for as long as I can remember and I wanted to do something different, something that united a piano variation with the original orchestra...I have fulfilled one of my dreams. Now I just hope that these notes reach the souls of all listeners." Both stately and heartfelt, I really can't imagine anyone not begin moved by the beauty of the music, Alejandro's playing, or David's orchestration. Soulful and inspiring, it's a wonderful arrangement and performance!

"Holst - The Planets, Op. 32: IV. Jupiter, The Bringer of Jollity' is available from Amazon, Apple Music/iTunes, and many streaming sites including Spotify. Very highly recommended!
